Briggs & Stratton Animal race engines for Quarter Midget Racing.
We build each racing engine to spec per the class and organization you will be competing in. Every Krybaby Racing Engine is given 100% of what the rules allow – we build each engine to peak performance.
Everyone starts quarter midget racing in the Honda 120 class - its a mild performer and easy to handle. The Briggs Animal is the opposite "its an Animal" Way more power and a sound that is unmatched. Once they are fired up you know you have entered another level of racing. The animal has been around for 23 years with basically the same architecture but the newer the better.
While this engine comes with the splined crank for the gear box no gear box is included so its another $300 in parts. The parts list is long and reaches nearly $650 before an engine is even purchased. Then the fun begins - the engine will be completely dissembled and every weight and measure checked and brought to the rule book specs. Out of the box its a good start and we will make it better. If you want win this class it starts with no lifting and ends with the checkered flag.
Again in 2024 we brought engines to the rumble in Fort Wayne and our animal build was king of the hill winning all the features of the weekend and nearly all the heat races too.
Its not the cheapest way to race but there is no other engine like it.
The sister engine is the Briggs Lo206 with the orange side over - almost exactly the same and often used when the animal is not available due to limited production. The orange side cover gives it away and takes a few more parts to convert it ( now have to buy a $150 dollar crank and a few other parts) but the outcome is exactly the same but with a higher cost.
